A romantic French-inspired escape for two.  

Tucked away in the heart of the Mount Benson wine region, Honeyfield Cottage is a secluded retreat designed exclusively for two. This charming 1850s French country-style cottage, crafted from hand-hewn limestone and original timbers, radiates romantic sophistication—inviting you to slow down, unwind, and savor every moment together.

Inside, the warm glow of the stone open fireplace sets the perfect mood, while the fully equipped kitchen, complete with handcrafted limestone benches, is ideal for intimate meals. The bedroom is a dreamy haven, designed for long, lazy mornings, and just beyond the door, an elegant garden filled with lavender and fragrant herbs adds to the magic.

Our properties are fully self-contained and we supply a starter pack consisting of dish liquid sachets, laundry powder sachets, dish cloth, bin liners, milk, coffee, tea, sugar, bathroom amenities and a roll of toilet paper per toilet. Please note the complementary pack is to get you started for your holiday and through your first night.

We only provide bathroom linen for the number of guests in your booking. We recommend you bring your own beach towels as we do not provide these.

Wifi – There is no wifi, however many of the local cafes and public library offer free internet access if required during your stay.

Pets – We accept pets at this property but they are to be kept strictly outside. If there are any signs of pets being inside cleaning fees and if there is any damage will be added onto your stay accordingly. Pets also come at a $25 fee per pet and we will need to request this fee from you.

Please note the yard is not completely secured and shared with another property so we would recommend restraining your dog.

For a couples retreat the place was ideal, private and away from town. The house was perfect for our three night stay however we only had one nights supply of wood for the open fire but alternatively we used the reverse cycle.
